Hypnosis Mic -Dream Rap Battle- was a free to play RPG game developed for mobile platforms, based off the Hypnosis Mic franchise. Its service ended on September 30, 2025 at 12:00 JST.

Gameplay[]

Quests[]

Quests are the battles in this game. There are three different types; Main Quests, Subquests, and Event Quests. The battle system is largely the same between the different quest types. It is a turn-based system, with three player characters of your choice on one side, and three enemy NPCs on the other. All characters attack through rap.

At the start of each turn, the player must choose an enemy target, and three cards from their randomly shuffled hand to boost the attack. After the player has attacked, the enemy side will attack a player character at random.

The three types of cards in the battle system are Rhyme, Flow, and Lyric. Rhyme cards add to your Vibes Gauge, Flow cards add to the Punchline Gauge of the Actor (the player character whose turn it is), and Lyric cards raise the power of the attack itself.

Combos[]

When selecting cards for an attack, it is possible to create combos. Rhyme, Flow, and Lyric combos are activated by choosing three cards of the same type. For example, making a combo of 3 Lyric cards will give your attack power a significant boost. Actor combos are activated by choosing three cards of the Actor character. If all three cards are of the same, non-Actor character, this will activate a 2Chain.

During a 2Chain both the Actor and the combo character will rap one after the other, and their attack power will be combined. Right before this attack, a "Draw Chance" will always occur. A Draw Chance has the potential to add the third player character's power to the attack if 3 of their cards are revealed, and when playing with 3 members of the same team (e.g., Ichiro, Jiro, Saburo), this will turn into a 3Chain where all three characters perform a team rap together.

Skills & Abilities[]

Both player and enemy characters have different types of skills that can be activated throughout the battles; Passive Skills, Active Skills, Hypnosis Abilities, and Punchlines. Passive skills are the weakest, and are each automatically activated after a number of turns specific to each one. Active skills are stronger but take a set number turns to become usable. Once usable, they stay usable until the player or enemy chooses to activate them at the beginning of a turn, then require a cooldown before they can be used again.

Hypnosis Abilities are strong skills unique to each player character that can be used when the Vibes Gauge reaches a set level. These are the same as the Hypnosis Abilities listed on their official profiles, with functions tailored to the battle system of the game. Each character has only one, regardless of what MC Card is being used, and each ability has its own special animation.

Punchlines are strong attacks that can be used when a player character or Ghost's Punchline Gauge is full, regardless of which character is the Actor for that turn. They are used in place of regular attacks. When used, the character will perform a special fully animated rap with its own instrumental. Every SSR MC Card comes with its own unique punchline.
