Lyrics[]
Yeah...
We are like the moon and the sun
As always, we move in opposite directions
Many moons ago while watching TV
Sometimes remembering back then
To memories burning with emotion, say goodbye
Now I won’t think back anymore; never looking back
Those happy times have passed, but I feel I’ll be alright
Occasionally his dazzling talent seemed to completely eclipse me
Like being overshadowed by his shine before my very eyes
I didn’t get it
I, the moon, wanted to be like that sun
Instead I should have been chasing my own dreams all day
Now that I’m moving on, it’ll be okay
Even the moon can be beautiful sometimes, right?
Even if I have to fall a hundred thousand times
No matter the frustration or the untied shoelaces
The destination will be reached
I’ll understand the meaning of these bruised knees
We need wisdom
We need wisdom
When I think back to those days
Even now my head fills with static
Like watching through a TV screen
The end of the dream I’d given up that day
This time I won’t run away from the pain
Good medicine always tastes bittersweet
The stage I stand on now is a little more cramped
Different from back then
Now all I have is a blackboard to vent on
So take a memo
Experience the sound of that nostalgic chime
This is where I belong
Hey, you, don’t give up yet
It’s alright to chase your dreams, silly
Sine, cosine, tangent
How many twists can one life really have?
Einstein, tell me
Is the path I chose to go down correct?
Einstein, tell me
What have I gained in exchange for all of my mistakes?
Wake me up, bright sunshine
Today again I’ll bathe in your light
Doing my best
As equals I move to stand by your side
Even if I have to fall a hundred thousand times
No matter the frustration or the untied shoelaces
The destination will be reached
I’ll understand the meaning of these bruised knees
We need wisdom
We need wisdom
Even if I have to fall a hundred thousand times
No matter the frustration or the untied shoelaces
The destination will be reached
I’ll understand the meaning of these bruised knees
We need wisdom
We need wisdom

Yeah
SAY GOOD BYE
we need wisdom
we need wisdom
wake me up
we need wisdom
we need wisdom
we need wisdom
we need wisdom

Trivia[]
- In the song, Rosho is heard singing "tsuki ga kirei desu ne", which is translated to "Even the moon can be beautiful sometimes, right?" in the English translation. This translation is a slightly altered version of the original meaning which is "The moon is beautiful, isn't it?". The Japanese lyrics are a direct use of Souseki Natsume's, a Japanese novelist's, way of describing how Japanese people in earlier centuries used to confess their love for each other. Though this literary profession of love is used in the song, there's been no confirmation whether this song is written to be a profession of love from Rosho to the person the song is about or not.[1]
