Shakku Harai is the elder monk of Kugen Temple and father of Kuko Harai.

He frequently argues with Kuko over his disrespectful nature, however, he respects Kuko's ability to achieve an ascetic lifestyle. After he was asked by Hitoya to train Jyushi, he passed the job to Kuko so he could mature while helping Jyushi develop his strength.
Appearance[]
Shakku is an older man with a lot of wrinkles. He is bald, and has gold eyes. He wears a long black kimono with a white hadagi underneath and tabi socks and sandals on his feet. On top is a yellow "bib" called a rakusu. He has a string of black prayer beads with two yellow tassels.
Personality[]
Shakku is strict and stern. He is devoutly religious and set in his ways, and he often takes violent measures to try to make his son behave. Ultimately, however, he does care for Kuko and the wellbeing of the people around him.
